About the 2015 ScienceTeller

The theme of the of the 2015 ScienceTeller Festival was “Sex and Science!” ScienceTeller 2015 was a celebration of fun facts and findings from the bold new world of sex research.

Why are penguins so perverted? How many people out there aren’t quite “straight”? How, exactly, do you define sex? (It’s not as simple as it seems!) How is sex linked with mental health? Are people in Dunedin kinkier than the rest of NZ? The 2015 festival took attendees through a journey with some of the University of Otago’s top researchers on all aspects of sex and sexuality, both in humans and non-humans alike.

The festival featured American sex advice columnist, founder of the “It Gets Better” campaign, and host of the popular Savage Love podcast, Dan Savage, as the keynote speaker.
